So, got bored today. A while ago, I bought some new gaskets for my throttle body, as well as a new idle sensor. After I noticed them languishing in my toolbox today, I decided to give it a go and put the new parts on the car.
Took me a decent amount of time to get the thing off without screwing anything up, but I got it off. In this shot, you can also get a better view of the throttle body air foil I installed a month ago. It actually looked pretty darn clean, but I decided to give it to my father. Since he works at a machine shop, they have industrial cleaners, so he can just pop it right in there. To make a long story short, I will basically have a throttle body that looks and acts like it just came out of the factory! Anyone else done satisfactory things to their ride today?

I have a box of TPI parts laying around, complete system from an 85 camaro.
I would probably be lose power but it would be a fun project for my Monte.

That would be a fun project, for sure. You are right, though, you would probably lose power with that setup. What kind of setup do you have on there now?

Edelbrock EPS intake and Edelbrock 650CFM carb.

Nice! Yeah, you'd definitely lose power if you switched to the TPI.

What about those stealth ram systems holley sells? Uses TPI computer and whatnot, but has its own intake. you hear anything about those?

Nah, never heard of those. Seems like an interesting concept though. I'll have to look it up!

Too bad they don't fit under a stock Corvette hood, it would be the answer to a tough problem for many a C4 owner...

I cant imagine it being much taller than my current Intake Carb and air cleaner though.

Oh noes! It'll work fine on anything but a Corvette with a stock hood. GTG on the Monte!

I cant tell if i want to keep with the Gen I SBC or put an LS motor in it.
Either a 302 DZ clone with a giant solid liter cam for some righ revs and a 6 speed.
or
LS motor and a six speed.
Here's the car-

While a hi-revving SB would be badass, if you've got the bucks to spring for a swap, it's damn hard to beat the LS for practical, streetable, light horsepower. Not to mention, the T56 would give you so much more for the freeways.

I mean I've got a built 200-4r so highway cruising is just fine.
I've got a 327 with a 283 crank in it with a solid cam already, I could rebuild that engine cheaper than an LS swap so id say 5k for the whole build there.
Whereas 8-10 for my LS swap with a t-56

Ya, money is a factor for sure.
